Hey guys, I'm not afraid anymore!

Ok, well maybe just a little but I am proud to say that my fear of those "wedgie slides" are getting smaller. Yes, I am still terrified but the latest outing to Seven Peaks helped. It was such a fun day and the weather was perfect.

I do really enjoy water slides but for some reason I have always been terrified of the ones that go super fast and you have to cross your ankles. Somehow, Tyler convinced me to go on the orange one and I did. Oh, it scared me to death and I thought for sure I would not make it out of there alive. But, I did. I did it once and that is good enough for me!

This is Tyler coming down, not me. He was all about doing it again and I said "No way!"

Another baking attempt

This is supposed to be an apple pie. Yea, supposed to be! My summer has been filled with spending time with Tyler, working out, swimming, reading and attempting to bake things I have never made before. And this pie was one of them. I don't yet know how it tastes but am pretty sure I am heading to the store for some vanilla ice cream, just in case! I am pretty impressed with the flower on top. That was a good addition. Next, mastering the cinnamon rolls!

2010 Stokes Folks Family Reunion

Happy Reunion Time! Every year the Stokes' get together for a fun family reunion. This year it was held July 16 in Sandy, Utah. It was at Aunt Bev and Uncle Donald's clubhouse and we had a great time. Too much food (as always) but it was delicious. Volleyball, swimming and of course, family pictures. I clearly dropped the ball on that one and didn't get any on my camera! We had a great time and it was fun to get everyone (well, almost everyone) together. We were missing 3 missionaries, 4 cousins and their families. Not bad!

Josh and Jake. Usually, Nathan and Ryjil would be with them but they are currently serving missions. Nate in the Philippines and Ryjil in Argentina.
Chilling in the clubhouse!
Kelsie and adorable Hadley
Sara and I. We sure missed Mary in Minnesota and Emily
Josh, Sara and I. We always love our reunions and are sad when they are over. We know though, that we can always look forward to one next year. I'm grateful for my grandparents who always make sure we get together. I look up to them so much and am grateful for their examples of love and service.

Family, Fun and a Baby Blessing

Tyler and I went to Salmon again for the weekend. Brooklyn Ann Young was blessed on Sunday and it was a wonderful weekend. Yes there are a million pictures of her but she is just precious and I love her! She is my first niece but pretty sure I will feel that way about all the ones to come! Brooklyn experienced her first time at the lake. And she slept through most of it!

She is so cute and makes the cutest faces when she is sleeping. Which she still does a lot but is starting to be more awake.
Aunt Sara with Brooklyn and her huge yawn!
Me, Grandma and Gramps! They are such proud grandparents and absolutely love little Brooklyn
My handsome little brother Josh
My handsome boyfriend Tyler!!! I was trying to be a little bit taller but I have to accept that I will always be much shorter!
The proud momma of Brooklyn. Seth and Emily are great parents and love Brooklyn so much.
Brooklyn with Auntie Carrie!
We very much missed our missionaries this weekend but know that they are both needed in Minnesota and the Philippines. We are so excited for this precious new addition to our family!

Movies Under the Stars

The Capitol is hosting "Movies under the stars". It is so fun. Tyler and I went last week and watched "Legally Blonde 2". It was such a nice night to just sit on the Capitol lawn and watch a movie. We had a great time and can't wait for the next one.

Good Friends

Last week I was able to see my good friend Paige. We had lunch at Zupas and then just talked and talked and talked. It was so fun to see her. We had some good times in San Diego last year on the AVID trip and had lots of laughs together. It was so fun to spend some time together and just catch up!

Carrie Underwood

Salmon High School Class of 2000

The Ten year class reunion this weekend should have been made into a movie. It was fun and exactly as I expected. I went up Thursday afternoon to help set up and ended up making this lovely sign as seen above! ( I will be showing my SBOs that this is what a good poster is...you can actually READ IT!)

Friday night rolled around and it was time to go see people I haven't seen for 10 years. Here are 10 things I learned at my class reunion

1- Some things never change
2- Water was not the beverage of choice
3- After dinner, the room became extremely sparse
4- Though dinner was good, I would have been happy with a hot dog
5- Ten years can be great or horrible
6- 3 hours was good
7- Name tags would have been a good idea
8- Very interesting career paths
9- Our class was always very unique
10- And again, some things never change!

Happy Birthday America

Oh how I love the 4th of July. Fireworks, parades, BBQs, family, trips, music. It's wonderful. And it was a great 4th of July this year! I attended the Stadium of Fire with Tyler on Saturday night and was in complete awe. I will admit that I cried several times. I just love our country! I loved everything about the night and can't wait until we can go back next year. And of course, I love Carrie Underwood!!!

I just think back to all those men and women and the sacrifices that were made so we can be free. Let us never forget those people who sacrificed so much so we can have so much!
